[06-25-2024] 67-Year-Old Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in Emerald Hills NeighborhoodA 67-year-old pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego on Tuesday evening, June 25, 2024. 

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 6:25 p.m. at 5100 Lenox Drive in the Emerald Hills neighborhood. 

Police said that a 2005 GMC Yukon, driven by a 33-year-old man, was heading westbound along Lenox Drive. At that time, the sun was blinding the driver’s eyes, and as he reached for the visor, his vehicle hit the pedestrian.

The victim, identified only as a 67-year-old woman, suffered a laceration to her scalp and a fracture to her left ankle. She was immediately transported to a hospital for medical care. As of this writing, her current condition is unknown. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Further details will be released once they become available.
