[06-20-2024] Fresno County, CA – Elderly Woman Killed, Another Person Injured After Two-Vehicle Rear-End Crash Along Shaw Avenue

[06-20-2024] Elderly Woman Killed, Another Person Injured After Two-Vehicle Rear-End Crash Along Shaw AvenueAn elderly woman was killed, while another person was injured after a two-vehicle rear-end crash in Fresno County on Thursday evening, June 20, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened at about 7:15 p.m. at Shaw Avenue and Indianola Avenue, east of Clovis.

Upon arrival, CHP officers found the first vehicle at the crash site with considerable front-end damage and the other about 1,000 feet away with rear-end damage. The authorities believe that the vehicle in front may have continued going west at a slow speed after the collision before coming to a rest on the side of Shaw Avenue.

Initial reports suggested that the elderly woman, approximately in her 80s, was driving eastbound along Shaw Avenue and was attempting to turn left on Indianola Avenue when another driver approached her vehicle from behind. For some reason, the driver behind crashed into the elderly driver’s car.

The elderly driver suffered severe injuries as a result of the incident. She was pronounced dead shortly after. The other driver, only described as a woman in her 40s, sustained injuries as well, but none were major.

Further information was not immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors that may have played a role in the deadly accident.

An investigation is underway.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
