A semi-truck driver was struck and killed in a collision involving another truck in Long Beach on Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to the 2600 block of Pier T Avenue around 6:40 a.m. to investigate a reported traffic collision.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics were already treating the victim upon arrival, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined the man had parked his semi-truck along the south curb of Pier T Avenue and exited the vehicle, standing near the engine compartment. The force of the collision caused the man to fall, after which he was run over by his own truck.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the second semi remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
