An RV overturned and blocked traffic on Highway 101 near Atascadero on Monday afternoon, June 16, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 12:55 p.m. when a 25-foot travel trailer overturned and landed on its side in the center divider of the northbound lanes near the off-ramp to Highway 41.
The CHP incident log indicated that other vehicles may have also been involved. By 1:45 p.m., traffic was backed up from Highway 41 to San Diego Way.
CHP confirmed that multiple tow trucks had arrived on scene, and the left lane remained closed. Caltrans later reported that all lanes were cleared by 2:50 p.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
