[06-16-2024] Three Teens Hospitalized Following Single-Vehicle DUI Crash in ReddingThree teens were hospitalized following a single-vehicle DUI crash in Redding early Sunday morning, June 16, 2024. 

According to the Redding Police Department, the collision happened around 5:30 a.m. at the 4000 block of Eastside Road. 

Authorities stated that they had received an iPhone Crash Detection alert and immediately responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a 1997 Toyota Camry with moderate damage off the roadway. Three teenagers, all aged 14, were also found inside the car with moderate to severe injuries. 

All victims were transported to a hospital for medical care. Due to their age, their names, genders, and places of origin were not disclosed. 

RPD said that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Eastside Road when it lost control and crashed. Alcohol and marijuana appear to be the factors of the collision. 

No further details were released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. 

Investigations are ongoing.
