Multiple injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash in Oxnard on Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2024.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the serious car collision occurred at about 3:32 p.m. on Victoria Avenue, south of 5th Street.
Reports suggested that the incident involved a black Lexus driven by a 79-year-old woman from Port Hueneme and a Ford F-150 pickup truck with two people inside, including a 19-month-old kid. It is said that the Lexus attempted to turn illegally, causing a collision with the Ford.
The elderly driver in the Lexus reportedly suffered critical injuries, while the two occupants of the Ford sustained minor injuries. They were transported to the St. John’s Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Investigators do not believe that driver impairment and speed are contributing factors.
