[06-15-2024] Passenger Seriously Injured Following Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Along 5 Freeway in Oceanside A passenger was seriously injured following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Oceanside on Saturday morning, June 15, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 5:50 a.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway before Aliso Creek rest area.

Authorities stated that a black BMW was traveling along the freeway when, for unknown reasons, it swerved from the far right lane to the far left lane, struck a center divider, and rolled over. A passenger of the vehicle, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, sustained major injuries. 

Initial investigation showed that the incident may have been fatal, but this report has not yet been confirmed as of writing.

The total number of people involved was not clear. It is unknown if anyone else was injured. The role of drugs, alcohol, and speeding is being investigated by the authorities. 

Further details have yet to be released, and the investigators are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
