[06-14-2024] Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Collision in Apple ValleyA pedestrian was seriously injured after a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Apple Valley on Friday afternoon, June 14, 2024.

According to the Apple Valley Fire Protection District, the crash happened at about 2:07 p.m. in the 10000 block of Kiowa Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim along the roadway and a blue 2016 Kia Forte with apparent damage to its passenger side windshield parked on the right-hand shoulder.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed by ambulance to the helipad at Victor Valley Global Medical Center, where they were then airlifted to a trauma center using a Mercy Air helicopter. The authorities have yet to release the victim’s identity and current condition.

Meanwhile, the driver of the involved Kia, who was only identified as a female, remained at the scene and cooperated with the preliminary investigations. It is unclear if she was injured in the crash as well.

The Apple Valley Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation. As new information becomes available, updates will be made.
