[06-14-2024] Man Killed After Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Collision Along Gundry Avenue in Long Beach A man was killed after a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Long Beach on Friday evening, June 14, 2024. 

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Carson Street and Gundry Avenue, east of Orange Avenue. 

Authorities stated that a pedestrian, identified only as a man, was crossing outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Carson Street. The man sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. As of writing, the name, age, and place of origin of the victim were not disclosed. 

Police said that the driver of the vehicle that hit the man remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigators. Details on how the collision occurred were not released, but drugs, alcohol, and speeding were not believed to be factors in the fatal crash.
