[06-13-2026] Alameda County, CA – Man Killed in Suspected Hit-and-Run on East 12th St. in Oakland

A man was found dead after a suspected hit-and-run crash on a street in East Oakland on Saturday morning, June 13, 2026.

According to authorities, the victim was discovered around 8:43 a.m. in the 4700 block of East 12th Street in the Melrose district. The man suffered major traumatic injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

An autopsy confirmed that the injuries were consistent with a traffic collision. The victim’s identity has not yet been determined, and he is believed to be unhoused.
