[06-11-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Child Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision Near 36th St. and 19th Ave.

A 9-year-old girl died following a hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a minibike in Sacramento on Thursday evening, June 11, 2026.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers responded to the scene just before 8 p.m. near 36th Street and 19th Avenue and found the child and an adult man. 

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where the girl was pronounced dead. The man sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Authorities reported that the vehicle involved fled the scene before officers arrived. Detectives from the department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit, along with crime scene investigators, have taken over the case.

The incident remains under investigation.
