[06-11-2024] Male Cyclist Killed After Bicycle Vs. Vehicle Collision in Natomas ParkA male cyclist was killed after a bicycle vs. vehicle collision in Sacramento on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2024.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the deadly traffic incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. near Club Center Drive and Banfield Drive in the Natomas Park neighborhood.

The circumstances behind the crash remain unclear. SPD has not disclosed the make or model of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist at this time. They have also yet to confirm whether or not its driver remained on the scene.

Police, along with the Sacramento Fire Department, arrived at the crash site and quickly transported the male victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he passed away due to his injuries shortly after. The name, age, and origin of the deceased victim were not yet provided.

Several roadways around the area were blocked as a precaution. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes in the meantime.

No further information was immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the fatal accident.
