[06-04-2024] Two People Killed, Three Others Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Collision in Playa Del Rey Two people were killed, and three others were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Playa del Rey, Los Angeles, on Tuesday evening, June 4, 2024. 

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the crash happened around 7:55 p.m. in the area of the 8800 block of Vista Del Mar, near Dockweiler State Beach. 

Authorities stated that one person was trapped inside one of the involved vehicles. The LAFD officers tried to extricate that person, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Three other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital in critical condition, where one of them died. A fourth victim was also hospitalized and listed in fair condition. Police identified the surviving victims as two women, ages 18 and 30, along with an 18-year-old man.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but the police suspect speed may have played a role. 

No additional details were provided. Investigations are ongoing.
