A female rider was killed following a motorcycle collision in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fatal crash happened at about 5:00 p.m. on the eastbound Ventura (101) Freeway near the De Soto Avenue off-ramp in Woodland Hills.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the motorcyclist lying on the ground unresponsive. After being evaluated by the paramedics, the female rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name, age, and place of origin were not immediately clear.
The circumstances behind the incident remain unclear, but authorities believe that the victim may have been struck by another vehicle closely following the initial collision. No other injuries were reported at this time.
As a precaution, the California Highway Patrol blocked all but one lane of the eastbound Ventura Freeway near Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
CHP is now investigating the cause of the deadly accident.
