[06-02-2024] Two Pedestrians Injured Following Suspected DUI Hit-And-Run Collision in Pacific BeachTwo pedestrians were injured following a suspected DUI hit-and-run collision in San Diego early Sunday morning, June 2, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Bayard Street and Grand Avenue in the Pacific Beach neighborhood.

SDPD said that the two victims were crossing the intersection legally when a vehicle struck them after running a red light. The suspect vehicle then reportedly drove off without calling for help.

The two victims, whose names were yet to be released, were injured as a result of the crash. Their current condition was unclear.

Police later located the driver of the suspect vehicle, a man, and took him into custody. On top of being involved in the hit-and-run crash, police believe that he was also driving under the influence at the time of the accident.
