[05-30-2026] Santa Cruz County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Near North Pacific Ave.

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Santa Cruz early Saturday morning, May 30, 2026.

According to the Santa Cruz Police Department, the incident was reported around 1:45 a.m. near North Pacific Avenue. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital but later died from their injuries. Authorities stated that the driver initially fled the scene but was later located and arrested. 

The suspect faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run-related offenses.

The investigation remains ongoing.
