One person sustained minor injuries after a driver attempting to flee a DUI checkpoint crashed into another vehicle in San Francisco on Friday night, May 30, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. during a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint on Harrison Street between Sixth and Seventh streets. A Honda sedan stopped at the checkpoint but then fled the scene without warning.
The Honda continued on Harrison Street and crashed into a Ford sedan at the intersection of Eleventh Street. Officers did not pursue the fleeing vehicle.
The driver of the Honda fled the scene on foot and remains at large. CHP confirmed that the vehicle was not reported stolen. The passenger in the Ford suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate and are searching for the suspect.
