An elderly female pedestrian suffered critical injuries after being struck by a Big Blue Bus in Santa Monica on Friday morning, May 30, 2025.
According to the Santa Monica Police Department, the collision occurred around 8:15 a.m. in the 2900 block of Pico Boulevard. Authorities reported that the eastbound bus hit the woman while she was in the roadway.
Emergency responders transported the victim, who is believed to be a local resident, to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The bus driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police confirmed that drugs or alcohol did not contribute to the incident.
No injuries were reported among the bus passengers. The investigation is ongoing.
