[05-28-2024] Two Teenagers Hospitalized Following Single-Vehicle Crash on SR-18 Near VictorvilleTwo teenagers were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash near Victorville on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2024. 

According to the responding officials, the collision occurred around 6:09 p.m. on State Route 18 before Stoddard Wells Road.

Authorities stated that a 2003 Ford Crown Victorian Police Interceptor was traveling on SR-18 when it crossed over the center median and into the opposing lanes of traffic. As a result, the vehicle became lodged on the rocks with major damage and engulfed in flames. 

Two male teenagers, ages 17 and 18, were the occupants of the vehicle. Both sustained injuries and were airlifted to trauma centers for treatment. The condition of the victims was not disclosed.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and ensured the fire was extinguished. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.  

Further information on the collision has yet to be released by the authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
