A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a suspected DUI crash in Cathedral City on Saturday night, May 24, 2025.
According to the Cathedral City Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 8:50 p.m. to the intersection of Dinah Shore Drive and Via Echo, where they found a pedestrian suffering from major injuries.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The vehicle and the driver remained on the scene following the crash.
Authorities identified the driver as 35-year-old Anthony V. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
The investigation is ongoing.
