A 9-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle in central Fresno on Wednesday morning, May 22, 2024.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the collision happened around 7:30 a.m. at Orchard and Michigan Avenue in front of Birney Elementary.

Authorities stated that a 9-year-old victim was being dropped off at school when the incident happened. The boy was reportedly running across the street and then was hit by an unspecified vehicle. He suffered a broken leg and was transported to the hospital for immediate medical treatment.
