A man was killed, and a woman was injured following a two-vehicle crash in Madera County on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Avenue 21 and Road 28 ½.
Authorities stated that a Jeep, driven by a woman, was traveling westbound on Avenue 21 while a white Ford Escape was traveling southbound on Road 28 ½.
The driver of the Ford Escape failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.
Officials said the Ford Escape crashed into a tree. The driver, a man around 20 years old, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep sustained moderate to major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and CHP is asking anyone with information to contact the agency.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
