[05-19-2026] Imperial County, CA – Two Injured After SUV Rolls Over on I-8

Two people suffered minor injuries following a rollover crash on Interstate 8 in Imperial County on Tuesday morning, May 19, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 6:52 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 8 east of Westside Road.

Authorities stated that a black Jeep SUV was traveling eastbound when it drifted off the roadway and onto the right shoulder. The driver apparently overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over before coming to rest in the center divider.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a young couple walking near the damaged SUV. Officials confirmed that both occupants sustained only minor injuries.

The vehicle suffered extensive damage, and a nearby guardrail was also damaged in the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
