[05-19-2025] One Injured in Crash Caused by Street Racing on Peabody Road in VacavilleA crash caused by street racing in Vacaville left one uninvolved motorist injured on Monday night, May 19, 2025.

According to the Vacaville Police Department, the incident occurred just after 8:00 p.m. near Peabody Road and Cliffside Drive. 

A black Ford Mustang and a silver Chevrolet Corvette were racing down the off-ramp from Interstate 80 when the driver of the Mustang lost control and struck two other vehicles.

The collision sent debris flying and caused significant damage. One of the uninvolved drivers was transported to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

Authorities confirmed that both vehicles were racing on eastbound I-80 shortly before the crash. The driver of the Mustang, a 22-year-old man, was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail on charges related to reckless driving and street racing. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Vacaville police are continuing to investigate and are seeking additional information about the Corvette involved in the incident.
