According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the pedestrian vs. vehicle collision happened at about 6:35 p.m. at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Cole Avenue.

The circumstances behind the incident remain unclear. Authorities reported that the elderly victim suffered major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where she remains in serious condition. The victim’s name and place of origin were not disclosed at this time.

Police described the suspect vehicle as a black 2004-2010 Pontiac with a missing front license plate and tinted rear windows. The city is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of those involved in the hit-and-run.
