A man was airlifted to a trauma center following a two-vehicle collision on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway beneath the Ranchero Road overpass in Hesperia on Friday night, May 16, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:48 p.m. and involved a dark-colored 2021 Toyota Camry and a silver Honda. The Honda sustained major front-end damage, while the Camry had major rear-end damage.
It was not immediately confirmed which vehicle the injured man was in at the time of the collision. Both vehicles were reported blocking traffic lanes, with one facing the wrong direction under the overpass.
San Bernardino County Fire personnel responded to the scene and determined the man’s injuries required emergency air transport. Mercy Air 22 landed near Bishop Avenue and Poplar Street, east of Highway 395, where the man was transferred from a ground ambulance and flown to a trauma center.
