[05-16-2024] Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By Hit-And-Run Vehicle in East BakersfieldA pedestrian was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in east Bakersfield on Thursday morning, May 16, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 10:15 a.m. on Niles Street near Oswell Street in front of “Derrick’s Liquor.”

Authorities stated that a person was hit by a vehicle and then pulled out of the road. The victim sustained minor injuries following the crash. The extent of their injuries, as well as their condition, remain unknown. 

Police said the driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled the scene. At this time, no information is available regarding the make or model of the suspect’s vehicle.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident. 

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary details to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
