[05-12-2025] One Injured, Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Series of Hit-and-Run Crashes in North Monterey CountyOne person sustained minor injuries after a suspected DUI driver caused a series of hit-and-run crashes in north Monterey County on Monday night, May 12, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were dispatched shortly after 9:00 p.m. following reports of a hit-and-run. The suspect was first involved in a crash near San Miguel Canyon Road and Hambey Lane.

The vehicle continued traveling north and struck a power pole near San Miguel Canyon Road and Corto San Miguel Canyon Road. PG&E later confirmed the pole sustained minimal damage following an integrity inspection.

The final collision occurred at the intersection of San Juan Road and Tarpey Road, where the suspect’s vehicle struck another car, resulting in one person being injured.

The suspect fled the scene but was located shortly after and arrested by CHP officers. Authorities stated that DUI is suspected to be a factor in the incidents.
