Three people riding in a Nissan Rogue sustained moderate injuries in a crash involving a utility truck in Ridgecrest on Monday evening, May 12, 2025.
According to Ridgecrest Police Chief Mario Ysit, the collision occurred at approximately 5:26 p.m. at the intersection of East Ridgecrest Boulevard and Sunland Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Nissan was traveling eastbound in the slow lane at about 40 mph and failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
The vehicle struck the back wheel of a Southern California Edison truck that was towing a trailer loaded with wooden utility poles. No occupants in the utility truck were injured.
The three individuals in the Nissan Rogue were transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
