A motorcyclist was seriously injured and airlifted to a trauma center after being ejected in a crash involving a silver sedan on the southbound 15 Freeway near Oak Hill Road in the Cajon Pass, San Bernardino County, on Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 4:15 p.m. in the No. 1 lane. Preliminary reports indicate that the crash caused the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle.
San Bernardino County Fire Department crews responded and provided treatment at the scene. A Mercy Air helicopter was requested and landed on the freeway, prompting a temporary closure of all southbound lanes to facilitate transport.
The motorcyclist was reported to be conscious at the scene and was flown to a nearby trauma center for further treatment. No additional major injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP.
