One person was killed and two others were critically injured following a fiery two-vehicle crash involving an SUV and a bus in Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles County, early Sunday morning, May 11, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway at the Hacienda Boulevard off-ramp.
The SUV collided with a bus and then the center divider, igniting into flames. Responding officers found a man lying near the right shoulder of the westbound lanes shortly after the crash.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene at 5:07 a.m. and reported the SUV was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was contained and did not spread to the bus.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were transported in critical condition, though their identities and current medical status have not been disclosed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
