Five people were injured following a two-vehicle crash in the Winnetka area of Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, May 10, 2026.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. at 8900 N. Winnetka Ave., at the corner of Nordhoff Street.
Authorities reported that four people became temporarily trapped inside one of the vehicles after the crash caused a fire hydrant to shear, sending water into the area.
Emergency crews freed the trapped occupants from the vehicle before transporting four patients to a hospital by ambulance. A fifth individual declined transportation for additional medical treatment.
The identities, ages, and conditions of those involved were not immediately released.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
