Multiple people escaped with only minor injuries after a vehicle crashed into the Sacramento River near Babel Slough Road in Yolo County on Friday morning, May 9, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported just before 10:00 a.m. south of West Sacramento.
First responders arrived to find the vehicle partially submerged in the Sacramento River off South River Road, near Babel Slough Road.
Authorities confirmed that all occupants were able to exit the vehicle safely. While the exact number of people involved was not released, officers stated that more than one person had been inside the car at the time of the crash.
Only minor injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
