A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Stockton on Friday morning, May 9, 2025.
CHP officers responded to the scene on Wilson Way, just south of Belvedere Avenue, where they found a victim in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian later died from their injuries.
Witnesses at the scene provided a detailed description of the suspect vehicle, despite the absence of a license plate number. Investigators were able to use that information to identify the vehicle and trace it to a residence on Vine Street in Stockton.
Officers located the suspect vehicle at the residence, noting visible damage consistent with a recent hit-and-run. The driver was subsequently arrested.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the suspect, who is now facing charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.
The incident remains under investigation.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
