[05-09-2024] Two People Injured After Pickup Truck Crashed Into Red Bluff Inn on Main StreetTwo people were injured after a pickup truck crashed into an inn in Red Bluff on Thursday afternoon, May 9, 2024.

According to the Red Bluff Police Department, the incident was reported at about 3:30 p.m. at the Red Bluff Inn on Main Street.

Investigators said that the driver of a 2002 Chevy S-10, later identified as Ryker K., 25, was involved in a separate disturbance case with a female victim in River Park before driving recklessly across Main Street.

The injured person staying at the inn, only identified as a 75-year-old Red Bluff resident, sustained minor injuries after getting hit by the debris when the pickup truck drove through their room. There is no word yet about the victim’s current condition.

The hit-and-run driver also sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital to recover and be evaluated for driving under the influence.

RBPD confirmed that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Ryker K. has since been arrested on several charges, including felony DUI and felony hit-and-run with injury.

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.

  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
