[05-07-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – E-Scooter Rider Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Reseda

A man riding an e-scooter sustained critical injuries following a hit-and-run collision in Reseda on Thursday morning, May 7, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred around 6:25 a.m. at the intersection of Strathern Street and Reseda Boulevard.

Authorities stated that a dark-colored SUV traveling eastbound on Strathern Street struck the man while he was riding an e-scooter in the southbound bike lane on Reseda Boulevard.

Police said the impact threw the victim into the air before he landed on the roadway, causing serious injuries. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The driver fled the scene following the collision. Detectives are continuing to investigate and have released surveillance footage in an effort to identify the vehicle and driver involved.

Authorities continue to investigate the hit-and-run crash.
