[05-07-2024] Four People Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Crash Along McClure Tunnel in Santa MonicaFour people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in Santa Monica on Tuesday afternoon, May 7, 2024.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department, the traffic collision happened at about 2:30 p.m. along the McClure Tunnel, which connects the 10 Freeway and the Pacific Coast Highway.

Early reports suggest that a black Dodge Challenger, for still-unknown reasons, flipped over the concrete median barricade. This then resulted in a collision with an oncoming G-Class Mercedes SUV that reportedly tried to avoid but failed.

Police said that four people were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. The victims’ names, ages, and places of origin were not immediately disclosed.

All lanes of the 10 Freeway going into the McClure Tunnel were closed momentarily as a precaution.

No further details were readily available. The authorities are still gathering all the necessary information to determine the cause of the incident.
