[05-05-2024] Six People Injured After Two-Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian in Mid-CitySix people were injured after a two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in Mid-City, Los Angeles, on Sunday evening, May 5, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the violent crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of W. Venice Boulevard near La Brea Avenue.

Among the six people who were confirmed to be injured, five of them were taken to nearby hospitals. One man in his 40s declined medical transport after being evaluated.

Two women, aged 51 and 62, were listed in critical condition, and a man, 51, was listed in serious condition. Meanwhile, both a 40-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl sustained moderate injuries. 

The firefighters apparently had to free one person from one of the involved cars after being trapped in it. At the same time, one of them was said to be a pedestrian, but authorities did not specify who. None of the six injured individuals have been named as of yet.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. The authorities are still looking for evidence to determine the factors leading up to it.

Police work is underway.
