[05-03-2026] Santa Barbara County, CA – Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Santa Maria

A 22-year-old woman was killed following a hit-and-run crash in the Santa Maria area on Sunday night, May 3, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on West Main Street between Santa Maria and Guadalupe.

Authorities reported that a vehicle traveling westbound struck a female pedestrian and fled the scene before emergency crews arrived.

The victim was identified as Aida N., 22, of Georgia. Additional details regarding the suspect vehicle were not immediately available.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam or surveillance footage from the area to contact the Santa Maria CHP office.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
