[05-02-2024] San Bernardino County, CA – Two People Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Collision Involving Walmart Semi-Truck in Apple Valley

[05-02-2024] Two People Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Collision Involving Walmart Semi-Truck in Apple ValleyTwo people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision involving a Walmart semi-truck in Apple Valley on Thursday evening, May 2, 2024.

According to the Apple Valley Police Department, the crash occurred at around 6:56 p.m. at the intersection of Dale Evans Parkway and Quarry Road.

APD stated that the incident was initiated by a 33-year-old male driver of a Toyota car who failed to stop at a stop sign. This negligent behavior then led to a crash with a Walmart semi-truck, which then lost control and struck a parked Nissan and a nearby electrical pole before tipping over entirely.

The driver of the semi, a 48-year-old man from Apple Valley, reportedly suffered high blood pressure as a result of the incident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Toyota driver, meanwhile, sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

It was later confirmed that no one was inside the parked Nissan when the accident occurred.

No further information was immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the traffic accident.

Potential witnesses are encouraged to contact the police and help with the ongoing investigation.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
