A motorcycle crash on the Bay Bridge in San Francisco County caused significant traffic delays for westbound commuters on Friday morning, May 1, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 5:47 a.m. and blocked two left lanes on westbound Interstate 80, just west of Treasure Island.

The lanes were reopened at 6:53 a.m., but motorists faced delays of over an hour, with estimated travel times of 70 minutes from the MacArthur Maze in Oakland to Fremont Street in San Francisco.

After the lanes were cleared, drive times across the Bay Bridge dropped to 22 minutes by 7 a.m. It is unknown if other vehicles were involved in the crash, and further details are not available at this time.
