Two people were injured following a three-vehicle crash that temporarily closed southbound Highway 99 in Modesto on Monday evening, April 28, 2025.
According to the Modesto Fire Department, the collision occurred around 6:10 p.m. just south of the Kansas Avenue on-ramp.
Emergency crews responded to find three heavily damaged vehicles, with one occupant trapped inside.
Firefighters extricated the trapped individual. Two people were transported by ambulance to a local hospital, while another person declined medical treatment.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
