A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in El Monte on Saturday morning, April 27, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal incident happened around 7:20 a.m. between Chico Avenue and Garvey Avenue.
Reports indicate that a light-colored sedan hit the pedestrian who was in a crosswalk before leaving the scene without rendering aid or contacting 911.
The victim was declared dead. The deceased’s identity remains undisclosed, pending notification of their next of kin.
As of now, the hit-and-run driver is still at large. The authorities encourage anyone with additional information to contact them as soon as possible.
