Multiple people sustained minor injuries following a crash involving a big rig and a utility van on Highway 41 at American Avenue in Fresno County on Wednesday afternoon, April 23, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 2:15 p.m. when a semi truck hauling a load of large rocks ran a red light at American Avenue. It collided with the front left side of a utility van that had entered the intersection on a green light.
The impact caused both vehicles to overturn, and the truck’s cargo of large rocks spilled across the southbound lanes of Highway 41.
CHP reported that all involved parties suffered minor injuries. Southbound Highway 41 remained closed for nearly four hours while Caltrans and a HazMat team cleared the debris.
Authorities stated that the crash remains under investigation.
