[04-22-2024] Riverside County, CA – Male Pedestrian Seriously Injured Following Hit-And-Run Crash in Palm Desert

A male pedestrian was seriously injured following a hit-and-run crash in Palm Desert on Monday morning, April 22, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic incident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. along the eastbound lane of Varner Road, just west of Washington Street.

Upon arrival, officers saw a man on the road with significant injuries and quickly transported him to the Desert Regional for treatment.

Neither the driver nor the vehicle that struck the victim was found anywhere at the site of the accident, rendering the case a hit-and-run.

What the pedestrian was doing on the road prior to the collision is still unknown. CHP said that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident.
