[04-21-2025] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Two Vehicles Along Manning Avenue in Reedley

[04-21-2025] Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Two Vehicles Along Manning Avenue in ReedleyA man died after being struck by two vehicles while walking along Manning Avenue in Reedley on Monday night, April 21, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. east of Englehart Avenue.

A 31-year-old man was walking in the eastbound lane when he was hit by a Hyundai Elantra driven by a 22-year-old woman who was also traveling eastbound. CHP officials stated that the lack of lighting on the roadway likely prevented the driver from seeing the pedestrian in time to avoid the collision.

Following the initial impact, the man remained in the roadway and was subsequently hit by a Honda Accord driven by a 27-year-old woman. She, too, was unable to avoid the man lying in the road, investigators said.

Emergency personnel responded promptly, and the man was airlifted by Skylife Helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Authorities confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol appears to be a factor for the drivers involved. However, toxicology results for the pedestrian are pending as part of the ongoing investigation.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
