[04-20-2025] One Injured After Off-Road Vehicle Plunges 30-40 Feet Into Canyon Near Lytle CreekOne person sustained injuries after an off-road vehicle carrying four individuals veered off a dirt road and plunged 30 to 40 feet into a canyon near Lytle Creek, San Bernardino County, on Sunday afternoon, April 20, 2025.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, crews were dispatched just before 5:00 p.m. to the remote crash site. All four occupants were found outside the all-terrain vehicle, with one rider sustaining injuries.

Fire personnel hiked down into the canyon and coordinated with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Aviation Division to conduct a hoist rescue. The injured individual was stabilized at the scene and lifted by helicopter to a nearby trauma center for further treatment.

A video shared by the fire department shows rescue teams working together at the crash site to extract the victim safely. The condition of the other three occupants has not been reported.

The CHP is currently investigating the circumstances of the crash.
