Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a vehicle went down an embankment in Tuolumne County early Sunday morning, April 19, 2026.
According to the Tuolumne County Fire Department, the crash was reported around 12:30 a.m. on New Priest Grade.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and located the vehicle approximately 200 feet down a hillside. A low-angle rope rescue system was used to reach and retrieve the occupants.
Both individuals were transported by air to trauma centers for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
