[04-19-2024] Butte County, CA – One Person Seriously Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash Near ChicoOne person was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash near Chico on Friday morning, April 19, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic incident happened just before 7:52 a.m. around the area of Highway 32 and Meridian Road.

The collision involved a black Acura and a grey Toyota FJ Cruiser. Initial investigations revealed that the cruiser intended to turn east at the Meridian Road stop sign, but it misjudged the timing, resulting in a collision with the Acura on its side.

The driver of the cruiser reportedly sustained major injuries, particularly on the face, while the driver of the Acura was said to have been uninjured.

No further information was immediately available, and the authorities are still looking at all the possible evidence to determine the factors leading up to the accident.
