[04-13-2025] Riverside County, CA – One Killed, Two Injured in Rollover Crash on State Route 79 in Temecula

[04-13-2025] One Killed, Two Injured in Rollover Crash on State Route 79 in TemeculaA 19-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a rollover crash on southbound State Route 79 just south of Anza Road in Temecula on Sunday morning, April 13, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at around 7:26 a.m., the man was driving a 1998 Toyota 4Runner with two 19-year-old male passengers—one seated in the front passenger seat and the other in the middle rear seat, reportedly unrestrained.

Investigators determined that the 4Runner had been traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of SR-79 when the driver overcorrected to the right at an undetermined speed. The vehicle lost control, veered onto the dirt shoulder, struck a telephone pole, and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.

CHP and Cal Fire responded to the crash and found the front passenger with minor injuries. The unrestrained rear passenger required extrication and suffered major injuries. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both passengers were transported to Inland Valley Medical Center. Lanes were closed for approximately two and a half hours during the investigation.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
